HCM CITY — A market for street vendors has opened at Phạm Văn Hai Market (on Phạm Văn Hai Street) in HCM City’s Tân Bình District.

The stalls will be open daily from 6pm to 11pm.

Some 20 households have been licensed to run businesses there, helping reduce the encroachment of pavements by street vendors.

It is expected that more such places will be set up in other districts to help the business of street vendors, who were recently ordered off the city’s pavements. — VNS
